The Corvette started off in 1953 with a in-line 6 cylinder engine and the dream of becoming a true muscle car icon. More than 50 years later it has evolved into what some would consider a super car and what all would consider to be a mean street machine. The 2008 Corvette comes with a equipped with a 6.2L 430 hp V8, a step up from the previous years 6.0L, and gets from 0-60 in a little less than 5 seconds. The goal of the Corvette has always been to compete with the exotics and still sell for a third of the price and that is exactly what GM has done with the 2008 Corvette. The new Corvette comes with three different option for suspension from mild to extreme. With all the excitement of the new Z06 and ZR1, all the press seems to be casting a shadow on the standard Corvette's, but let me remind you these are no cars to forget. The 08 Corvette will hold its own at the track and still take you comfortable to work in the morning. Not to mention the sleek styling and aggressive look of the car. The only downside is the continuous boring interior, but that has improved over the years and with everything else in mine, and the ability to keep up with cars three times the price, the interior could be made of cardboard and i wouldn't even notice once i heard the growl of the engine. The Corvette is one of the greatest sports cars in production and for a price starting around $46,000, i had to choose the 2008 Corvette Convertible for best convertible of 2008.

Best SUV- 2008 Infiniti FX35
Infiniti never fails to go above and beyond the norm with performance and style. Once again the FX35 is back for 2008 and has everything you could hope for in an SUV. Infniti has come to the realization that most SUV's never leave the pavement so it is apparent that the FX35 is more geared toward the sporty side of the spectrum. The FX35 comes in a single trim offering the 3.5L V6, familiar to the G35, that is pushing 275 hp. The FX35 rides low with sport tuned suspension as an option which also resembles that of the G35 sports sedan. the FX35 has the versatility of an SUV and the looks and performance of a sports car which makes it desirable to the younger business man or the dad who has to take the kids to baseball practice but still wants a fun to drive car for the weekdays. This car has it all as well as a luxurious but sporty looking interior. With all that in mind i had to make the unique FX35 my pick for top SUV for 2008.

The 335xi's MSRP is around $49,000 which is well worth the money for a great looking car that will get you where you need to go in a hurry. There are other 3-series models available in the price range of $32,000 for the base 328i. The 2008 BMW 328i and 328xi are powered by a 3.0L Inline 6 rated at 230 hp and 200ft-lb tq. The 335i and 335xi are powered by a modified twin-turbocharged version of the 3.0L engine that produces 300 hp and 300 lb-ft tq. A six speed manual is the standard with an options six speed automatic. This all-wheels drive sports car has it all, from acceleration like a super car, to handling like a track car all while getting good gas mileage makes this my choice for Best Sports Coupe of 2008.
